Abia Warriors, Enyimba play out goalless draw in Oriental derby

A Sunday clash between Abia Warriors Football Club and Enyimba Football Club of Aba ended in a goalless draw at the Umuahia Township Stadium.

The match, dubbed the Oriental Derby by fans of the two sides, featured several tense moments but failed to produce a goal.

Enyimba, former African and Nigerian champions, arrived in Umuahia with hundreds of supporters in tow.

Attempts by Kalu Nweke, Joseph Atule, and Edidiong Ezikiel for Enyimba were thwarted by resolute defending from Abia Warriors, who were cheered on by their home crowd.

Some fans of the two Abia sides, speaking to DAILY POST after the match, commended the players for their disciplined conduct on the pitch.

Enyimba will host Wikki Tourists in their next fixture, while Abia Warriors travel to face Bayelsa United, with both matches scheduled for next Sunday.
