Troops, police restore order after farmers-herders clash in Kwali, Abuja

Security forces have restored calm in Dadu community, Kwali Area Council of the FCT, following a violent clash between farmers and herders on Friday.

According to Zagazola Makama, the confrontation broke out after cattle allegedly invaded and destroyed a beneseed farm belonging to one Yunana Garba. In the ensuing altercation, Garba’s son, Yunana Naroka, was macheted on the head, while Garba himself was struck on the neck with a grazing stick.

A Fulani woman, identified as Amina Abdullahi, also sustained a machete wound on her palm during the incident.

The victims were taken to Goje Clinic, Ijah, and Abu Fatima Hospital, Kwali, where they are currently receiving treatment and reported to be in stable condition.

A joint team of Army personnel, police officers, DSS operatives, and local vigilantes swiftly moved into the area to restore order.

Authorities confirmed that normalcy has since returned, even as investigations into the clash continue.
