CAF Champions League: Remo Stars beat US Zilimadjou to book date with Sundowns

Remo Stars zoomed into the second round of the CAF Champions League after a 1-0 victory over US Zilimadjou of Comoros in Abeokuta on Friday.

Daniel Ogunmodede’s side won the preliminary round tie 5-0 on aggregate.

The Nigerian champions defeated US Zilimadjou 4-0 in the first leg last weekend.

Alex Oyowah netted the winning goal from the penalty spot 17 minutes from time.

Remo Stars will face South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns in the second round.

Nigeria’s other representative in the competition, Rivers United will take on Les Aigles of Democratic Republic of Congo at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Sunday.
