Transfer: Watkins chooses Man Utd as City confirm deal for Nypan

Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins, who was linked with a move to Arsenal in January and during the summer, is reportedly “open” to a switch to Manchester United.

According to GiveMeSport, Manchester United are also targeting the England international this summer.

Aston Villa are believed to value Watkins at £60 million, as Arsenal edge closer to securing the signature of Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyökeres.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, Manchester City on Monday confirmed the signing of Sverre Nypan from Norwegian club Rosenborg.

In a statement published on their website, Pep Guardiola’s side announced that the 18-year-old midfielder has signed a five-year contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2030.

Nypan made his first-team debut for Rosenborg at the age of 15. He arrives at Manchester City with a burgeoning reputation as one of the most promising teenage talents to have emerged in European football.
