Ace broadcaster, Christianah Ademulegun is dead

The first Ekiti indigenous broadcaster, Christianah Ademulegun popularly Called ‘Eye Opitan’ has passed away at 74

A statement by one of her children, Femi Ademulegun, said the veteran broadcaster passed away after a brief illness in the early hours of Thursday .

Eye Opitan’ was versed in the history of Ekiti towns and their ‘oriki’.

She retired from the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State and consulted for a few private stations in the state.

Mrs Ademulegun survived by children and grandchildren.

EPL: Salah overtakes Thierry Henry in all-time top goalscorer chart

Liverpool’s talisman Mohamed Salah has moved up to seventh in the Premier League’s all-time goalscoring charts. Salah scored in the 35th minute of their 4-1 win over Ipswich Town at Anfield on Saturday. The 32-year-old has been in inspired form for Arne Slot’s table-topping side this season. Salah netted his 176th goal in the division and has now moved clear of Thierry Henry (175) and one behind Chelsea legend Frank Lampard (177). The Egyptian is two goals clear of Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak in the race for the Golden Boot this season. He has also contributed 13 assists. Nigerian military, Briech launch locally made bombs, attack drones

The Nigerian military, in collaboration with Briech UAS has launched locally made bombs and drones in Abuja. At the unveiling and demonstration of the first set of locally manufactured attack drones, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, said it was a major landmark in the nation’s journey towards self reliance in defense technology and a significant step in strengthening national security capabilities.
